NLP Fusion Founder Orlando Zucchetto describes how medical professionals can easily use hypnosis to support their practice.
Instructions between appointments
For many health professionals, getting clients to follow instructions between appointments, often feels like an uphill battle. No matter how many times your repeat yourself, the message just does not seem to get through.
Doctors & dentists often are told “I took most of them, but then I felt better and forgot to finish the prescription” or “I meant to, but I was too busy.”
As a health professional, you are in control of what occurs in your office, but when they get home, things can be very different. The phone rings, children need attention, work, home, the list goes on.
For many people, remembering to take a prescription or motivating themselves to do a course of exercises, it is not high on their “things I want to do today” list!
The answer may just be, giving them something extra, something free that they may want to do. Something that will help you, help them!
Giving them a download recording to listen to, is something that is very little effort for them and the likelihood of them doing it is remarkably high.
Imagine how useful it would be; your clients simply listening to a recording for relaxation while the messages you have been directly telling them, are being reinforced as suggestions within that recording.
I wonder, what percentage increase of clients following instructions, would make this simple addition valuable, for your practice?

What you call the recording may differ from client to client
You can simply make a judgement call, on what you feel is most appropriate for them and your practice. For example; a meditation, hypnotic meditation, hypnosis, recording for relaxation or a healing mindset recording.
Treating the body and increasing the probability of having the clients mind “on side”, simply makes sense. Clients are already thinking and then making choices, it makes sense to use every resource practical to have your clients making the best choices they can.
How you can make this part of your future practice
1. Create a set of recordings to target the primary problems you face in your practice.
The client knows your voice, they have met with you and as their health professional, your voice already has authority attached to it.
However to be most effective, this will require resources including hypnotic language and delivery skills, the recording equipment and of course your most valuable asset…your time.
2. Engage with a competent practitioner to create recordings for your clients.
For many health professionals it is simply not practical to become proficient at or invest your valuable time to, create recordings for clients. Engaging with a professional Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist to create recordings, with your guidance to stipulate the message you want received, give you the best of both worlds!
You may choose to pay directly for this service to gain the benefits for yourself, your practice and your clients.
Or you may choose to engage in some form of reciprocal arrangement with the practitioner via direct referrals, partner to create a case study/trail that would benefit you both, or another arrangement that benefits both businesses.
3. Language exploration.
Exploring how you use language in your practice with clients, is most accurately achieved by recording client appointments for a day, transcribing the recordings and then analysing the transcripts, to find what works well and what can be improved.
One of my clients was told, “Try this (dosage advised) and we’ll go from there”
If your client was to say to you “I will try to pay you next week”… how confident would you be of getting paid? It’s worth thinking about…
You can begin exploring the language you use in your practice, simply by being aware of what you are saying and how you are saying it. Thinking through different approaches, asking colleagues that have a high success rate in the problem area, how they manage their results or seeking the assistance of a competent hypnotist or NLP Practitioner are also great places to start.
Medical professionals continue to experience tightening constraints on their time
With a relatively small investment you can extend the offering to your clients, increase the number of clients following your instructions and potentially reduce ‘re-visits’ from existing client’s. All this while creating space in your calendar and your mind, to do with as you choose.
